- INSURANCE COVERAGE The Contractor shall procure and maintain the following minimum insurance during the period of performance of this contract in accordance with FAR 52.228-5, Insurance - Work on a Government Installation: $500,000 per accident for bodily injury; No property damage general liability insurance is required. Automobile Insurance (comprehensive form of policy) is required: $200,000 per person; and $500,000 per accident for bodily injury; and $20,000 per accident for property damage. Standard Workmen's Compensation and employer's Liability Insurance. A minimum amount of $100,000 is required under the contract. Prior to contract commencement, the Contractor shall furnish to the CO a certificate or written statement certifying compliance with the above required insurance coverage. The policies evidencing required insurance an endorsement to the effect that any cancellation or any material change adversely affecting the interests of the Government shall not be effective for such a period as the laws of the State in which this contract is to be performed prescribe, or until 30 days after the insurer or the Contractor gives written notice to the CO, whichever period is longer. The Contractor agrees to insert the substance of this clause, including this paragraph, in subcontracts under this contract that require work on a Government installation.
