- ***ONLY SEND CORRESPONDANCE TO PAMELA JACKSON/ARCS AT PAMELA.L.JACKSON@NASA.GOV ORVIA FAX 256-544-6560***NASA/MSFC has a requirement for one (1) Thermal Catalyst.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the item from Hamilton Sundstrand Space SystemsInternational Inc. on a sole source basis; Thermal Catalyst is a unique reactor packedwith catalyst developed by Hamilton Sundstrand Space Systems International, Inc. Thecatalyst is used for the replication, troubleshooting and development of testbeds for theMSFC Water Processor Assembly. Hamilton Sundstrand Space Systems International Inc. hassignificant expertise in the manufacturing of the Thermal Catalyst and is an aerospacesupplier that has had multiple successful projects with NASA/MSFC. It is critical thatthe same on-orbit catalyst be used in the continued development and testing here atMarshall Space Flight Center.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Pamela Jackson/ARCS no later than 12 NOON CST on 05/26/2011. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
