Description

N0016111RC16481 FISC control No. 2011-1911. The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Philadelphia Division, Contracting Department intends to acquire contractor services to provide one year of internet and Internet2 connection to the US Naval Academy. The service will connect to the US Naval Academy, the Navy Postgraduate School, and the Naval War College. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with the University of Maryland Telecommunications System under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. UMATS is the only known institution that can provide these services. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A firm fixed price contact will be awarded as a result of this quotation. This requirement in support of the US Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD is processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures for commercial items using FAR 13.5 test procedures.
