- 1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The Contractor shall furnish all management, tools, supplies, equipment, materials, labor and transportation necessary to survey the existing compass calibration pad to determine if the site will continue to meet the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) specifications (UFC 3-260-01, Appendix B, Section 10. The contractor shall complete the work by June 17, 2011. The contractor shall also repaint compass rose radials and labels and install twenty-four (24) bronze survey makers with each true heading as described in UFC 3-260-01, Appendix B, Section 10, B10-6.2.1.3, Wheeler Army Airfield, island of Oahu, Hawaii, in accordance with the manufacturer's standards, commercial practices, and applicable Federal and State Codes. 1.1. Survey Compass Calibration Pad. The Contractor shall conduct a total field survey of the existing compass calibration pad to determine if the site will continue to meet the UFC standards. All work shall be done to the specifications of UFC 3-260-01, Appendix B, Section 10. On the completion of the survey, the contractor shall provide verbal and written reports detailing the findings of the magnetic surveys. The surveying of the compass calibration pad is required to satisfy the UFC requirements to recertify the compass rose. Per UFC 3-260-1, Appendix B, Section 10, paragraph B10-6.2.2,Wheeler Army Airfield's Compass Calibration Pad (CCP) magnetic declination, as determined by Army Engineers, has not changed more than 0.5 degree (30') from what is marked on the CCP, thus all magnetic markings will stay in their current positions. 1.2 Painting/Installation of survey markers. The contractor shall paint twenty-four (24) compass rose radials and labels as stated in UFC 3-260-01, Appendix B, Section 10, B10-6.2.1.4. The contractor shall provide and install twenty-four (24) bronze survey markers stamped with the appropriate information at each true heading as described in UFC 3-260-01, Appendix B, Section 10, B10-6.2.1.3.
