Description
The Government intends to award an out of scope modification to J.L. Malone & Associates under contract W91278-10-C-0084, for the upgrade to the Walter F. George Switchyard. The out of scope work involves the installation of Government Furnished, 15KV, switchgear in the Walter F. George powerhouse. This includes removal of the existing switchgear equipment, modification of the equipment pad, and all connection from the station service feeders as well as connection of the 15KV cable bus feeders to the main power transformers. The installation shall coincide with the other ongoing work under existing contracts W91278-10-C-0084 and W91278-10-C-0126 which were both competitively awarded to J.L. Malone & Associates. Under these contracts J.L. Malone is installing the aforementioned transformers and other high voltage equipment which must be connected to the switchgear. To have J.L Malone connect the equipment under contracts W91278-C-0084 and W91278-10-C-0126 to the new switchgear rather than the old switchgear will eliminate duplicative effort and cost. It is in the best interest of the Government to have J. L. Malone install the new switchgear equipment now so that J. L. Malone will be responsible for the total interface of all the equipment. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All responses received within 15 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All questions should be sent by email to Geanette Kelley, at geanette.kelley@usace.army.mil.
