Description

Residential Housing and Substance Abuse Treatment Program The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System anticipates awarding a procurement for a Residential Housing, Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) in Ft. Myers, Florida to provide care and services to homeless veterans. The treatment and residential housing facility must be easily accessed by public transportation and located within a 10 mile radius of the Ft. Myers Outpatient Clinic at 3033 Winkler Extension, Fort Myers, Florida 33916, and include boundaries as follows: North “ Del Prado Blvd. N. South - Estero Parkway East “ Interstate 75 West “ Veterans Memorial Parkway Services shall be furnished to beneficiaries for whom such care is specifically authorized by the Veterans Administration. The type of patients to be cared for under the contract will normally require care and services above the level of room and board. Care shall include, but not be limited to, a supervised environment with 24-hour staffing, room and board for both male and female veterans in separate living quarters, alcohol and drug free environment, active affiliation with Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) programs, supportive Social Service, structured and group activities, physical activities, and individual counseling as required (with special emphasis on vocational rehabilitation in collaboration with VA program resources). Beneficiaries will receive basic health and personal hygiene maintenance, monitoring of medications, and any other service or supplies normally provided. The per diem rate established will be an all-inclusive rate. The length of stay at the facility will be initially authorized for up to 90 days. The facility must meet the standards of the Life Safety Code (NFPA) #101, and be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). For this notice, the Government shall consider the following North American Industry Classification (NAIC) Codes: 621420, 623220, and 621112. All information for this solicitation will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) at www.fbo.gov. No hard copies will be available. All prospective bidders must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov/index.cfm. We anticipate issuing the solicitation on or before June 6, 2011, with a closing date on or about June 22, 2011. A determination not to compete this procurement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The anticipated award date is on or before July 31, 2011.
