Description
It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Rain Tree Consulting & Collaborations, under the authority of FAR 6.302, for curatorial assistance services for the "Native Voices: Native Peoples' Concepts of Health and Illness". The Curatorial Assistant will assist the Office of Communications and Public Liaison by performing support tasks associated with the communication, planning, content development and design for the project. The tasks for Curatorial Assistant include: Outreach and Communication •Serving as a liaison to individual native stakeholders Education •Providing research, writing, and logistical support for the activities of the Exhibition Educator •Providing preliminary resources, and supporting finalizing of various materials such as onsite and online activities, lesson plans, resource packets and resource lists for educators and students •Gathering resources for education materials and feedback from educators and students Research •Assisting in research efforts to support the development of the exhibition including textual research, identifying potential photographs, artifacts or media to illustrate the topics of the education •Locating participants and coordinating and conducting oral history interview with Native individual son various topics to support the themes of the exhibition •Negotiating or arranging for asset acquisition or creation •Clearing rights and permission •Assisting with identifying and fostering a long-term relationship with key contacts and targeted institutions Coordination and Administration •Researching and writing of reports, tracking contacts, creating, organizing, copying, transferring information related to research, assets, facts, people and gatherings in a timely manner •Making and maintaining lists •Compiling and distributing information and documents •Basic correspondence •Facilitating stakeholder, participant and VIP visits Assist in Advance Preparations for Journey of the Healing Totem from Washington State to the NLM • Serve as the advance liaison for the NLM Program and for the travelling of the Healing totem, including scheduling all briefing and housing requirements/logistics and briefing materials for blessings NLM has determined Rain Tree Consulting & Collaborations to be uniquely qualified to perform these services based on three years in various outreach activities to empower Native American Youth; service on the Intertribal Student Council; previous successful work with a curator team on several assignments to include conducting asset research for a timeline, coordinating and conducting oral history interviews with Native youth; working with project educators to develop career resources aimed at Native youth, and taking a leadership role on the 565 Federally Recognized Tribes interactive. This service will be procured under FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisitions). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider all responses received no later than the closing date of this announcement. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. ALL RESPONSIBLE SOURCES MAY SUBMIT A QUOTATION WHICH, IF TIMELY RECEIVED, SHALL BE CONSIDERED BY THE AGENCY.
