Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The United States Property & Fiscal Office for Maryland intends to negotiate a firm fixed price contract, on a sole source basis, with Handling Systems, Inc. 106 Park S. Court, Nashville, Tennesee, 37210. The purchase is for Helicopter Storage carts, four (4) UH-60 Storage Carts and two (2) CH-47 Storage Carts. The UH-60 Carts will be designed with two (2) compartments for engine intakes and three (3) shelves for other assorted components and will include three (3) lockable, PVC coated wire mesh doors. The cart will be approximately 50" wide by 132" long. At each end are aluminum extrusion uprights configured for the storage of doors. The shelves are covered with UHMW plastic to ease the insertion and extraction of component parts and to protect the parts from damage. The back of the cart will be covered with a PVC coated 12 gauge wire mesh use to prevent components from falling to the floor while allowing the contents to be viewed. Ten (10) rubber lined J-Hook hangers will be included for storage of drive shafts on the rear of the cart. Construction will be structural aluminum extrusion with die cast aluminum mounting hardware. There will be six (6) swivel locking casters with brakes. A design and drawing, including dimensions and materials specifications, must be approved by the AASF (Army Aviation Support Facility). The CH-47 Carts will be designed with one (1) compartment for crew seat storage and four (4) shelves for other assorted components. Carts will include three (3) lockable PVC coated mesh doors. The cart will be approximately 52" wide by 144" long by 82" high. The shelves are covered with " UHMW plastic to ease the insertion and extraction of component parts and to protect the parts from damage. The back of the cart will be covered with a PVC coated 12 gauge wire mesh use to prevent components from falling to the floor while allowing the contents to be viewed. Twenty-two (22) rubber lined J-Hook hangers will be included for storage of drive shafts on the rear of the cart. Construction will be structural aluminum extrusion with die cast aluminum mounting hardware. There will be six (6) swivel locking casters with brakes. A design and drawing, including dimensions and materials specifications, must be approved by the AASF (Army Aviation Support Facility). In the absence of any additional qualified sources, a contract will be awarded under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested concerns may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Solicitation documents are not available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement, based upon any responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any responses proposals to this notice must be received no later than close of business, 5:00 P.M., 08 June 2011, Eastern Standard Time. Any firm responding to this notice should identify themselves as either small business, or other than small business, in accordance with the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 333999, size standard 500 employees.
