CONTACT INFORMATION IS ALSO IN THE BODY OF THIS SOLICITATION************* NASA/MSFC has a requirement for RENEWAL OF (14) SEATS FOR FAIRVIEW SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE &SUPPORT. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase this service from Intelligent Light on a sole source basis.Competition is impractical for the following reasons: 1. Intelligent Light is the developer and distributor to NASA/MSFC of the proprietarysoftware that has been in existence at MSFC for a minimal of ten(10) years. 2. Compatibility is essential without interruption as the software is embedded andutilized as the common tool for NASA/MSFC.3. Market research shows that Intelligent Light is the only manufacturer of theFieldview Software which is software used for post-processing CFD solutions. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Denece A. Norris(ARCS) by email, denece.a.norris@nasas.gov or fax(256)544-6560 no later than 4:30 p.m. CST on June 10, 2011. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
