- Description
- REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Structural The South Bronx Job Corps Academy is a 501c3 federally funded Vocational and Educational Training Program that services youth in a residential setting. The program operates year round with approximately 200 residential and 100 non-residential trainees at the South Bronx Job Corps Academy; located at 1771 Andrews Avenue, Bronx New York 10453. This program is run by ResCare, Inc. for the United States Department of Labor. SCOPE OF WORK Deficiency 65262 Findings: The concrete retaining wall, which is over 200 feet long, has several vertical cracks which are probably due to the lack of expansion/ contraction joints. These cracks are unsightly, but do not appear to be evidence of structural distress or imminent failure. The wall also lacks base drains, but there seems to be no serious hydraulic loading as a result, and the condition does not merit any repair work. Recommendations: Chip out the loose concrete at the cracks (5 cracks of approx. 6 feet in length, each), clean by water blasting, and repair with a high strength, non shrink, surface bonding mortar Interested bidders are encouraged to call Vivian Lopez, Purchasing Agent before Friday, June 24 2011 you must call to set up an appointment Only appointments will be honor in the bidding process.
