Description
This notice is for project No. 620A4-11-228, Replace Roofs @ VA Castle Point Campus of the New York Healthcare System, Castle Point, NY 12511 This shall be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. This project is classified under NAICS Code 236220, and has a size standard of $33.5 Million. The cost estimate range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractor shall provide all required equipment, parts, materials and labor to perform roof tear off and replacement on the flat roofs located on Buildings 19/20 Elevator lobby, Building 20 Flat roof and 21 north stairwell. This work shall consist of stripping the existing flat roof, counter flashing and wall flashings down to the main support structure work and removal as construction debris. Once the demolition work is completed, the contractor shall have a VA Engineering representative inspect the sub-structural support members of the roof prior to any additional work being carried out. Once the roof structure has been inspected the contractor may continue with installing new roof. This work shall include 15% of the affected roofing area with Concrete Deck repair due to the existing roof system failure. Upon the deck repair work being completed and has had sufficient time to cure the contractor shall continue with installing new rigid board insulation with a minimum nominal thickness of 2.7" secured to the roof sub structure and properly pitched to existing roof scuppers. The contractor shall perform any required work to properly secure the new roofing material to the parapet walls, curbing and any other vertical surface adjacent to new roof work. Upon completely and securely installed insulation, the contractor shall then install an EPDM roofing membrane with a minimum installation of 60 mil, non-reinforced. The EPDM membrane shall be fully relaxed and secured to the newly and properly prepared substrate. Any and all seams of the new EPDM roofing system shall not overlap no less than 4" and shall be treated, washed and sealed to ensure a water tight seam. Additionally the contractor shall provide and install any and all required flashings, drip edge and fascia's to ensure a complete new roofing system. All other details and information shall be contained in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will be released on or around June 23, 2011. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and all bid submissions shall be in hardcopies; faxed or e-mailed bids will not be accepted. All bidders shall be registered in www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov, and www.orca.bpn.gov. End of Description
