Description

DOCUMENTATION OF AWARD PURCHASE ORDER# 583-D14035 OSTEOMEASURE XP ADVANCED BONE HISTOMORPHOMETRY DIGITAL COLOR AND VIDEO SYSTEM 1.Procedures and Justifications IAW FAR 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition was conducted using the procedures in FAR Subpart 13.1 -Procedures. The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center (RLR VAMC) in Indianapolis, IN submitted a funded purchase request (i.e. VA Form 2237) to acquire an OSTEOMEASURE XP ADVANCED BONE HISTOMORPHOMETRY DIGITAL COLOR AND VIDEO SYSTEM from Osteometrics, INC for Research Service. 2.Number of Offers Received. One (1) quote was received. The procurement was being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b), "Soliciting from a Single Source." 3.Award and Documentation IAW FAR 13.106-3. This procurement was done as a Single Source Procurement under FAR 13. The OsteoMeasureXP Advanced Bone Histomorphometry Digital Color and Video System allows refined analysis of samples of bones form laboratory animals (as well as humans) by static and dynamic histomorphometric measurements. OsteoMetrics INC is the only vendor that manufacturers, and assembles a system sophisticated enough to provide the analysis necessary for current and upcoming research studies. The price paid for this system (to include all components) was $78,670.00. 4.Justification.
