Description
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid intends to award on a sole source basis, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, a firm fixed price award to First DataBank, 500 East 96th St., Suite 500, Indianapolis, IN 46240 to purchase a license to the National Drug Data File (NDDF). Under the authority of FAR 6.301-1 10 U.S.C. 2304 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement The First Data Bank (FDB) is the only source of the National NDDF, which CMS/ORDI needs to carry out research. Careful market research was performed and found FDB either purchase all other previously existing data sources, or the other data sources are no longer in existence. In order to qualify as a potential contractor for this current award, the identical data files (NDDF) must already be in existence and available to the contractor. FDB's products include a complete line of drug databases, including clinical decision support and disease suite modules, applicators program interfaces, and stand alone PC products. For more than 30 years, their databases have been incorporated into thousands of vender and independent backbone systems. The FDB databases include descriptive drug information, drug pricing, and drug identification. FDB's unsurpassed clinical information and drug data, combined with Medi-Span's drug databases is the most complete source of current and authoritative drug information available. All responsible sources may submit capability statement sin consideration to the Agency at the above address and must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) System. CMS program officer shall make the determination of what would constitute equivalent expertise. The period of performance will be approximately July 5, 2011 to July 4, 2012. NAICS CODE is 511140.
