- The Department of Interior (DOI), National Business Center (NBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD), Herndon Office on the behalf of the Foreign Agriculture Services (FAS), is soliciting qualified firms to submit responses to a Request for Quote for Hotel Conference Center Support Services. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial service prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.102 (g) and with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document incorporates all mandatory commercial item provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-52 dated May 31, 2011. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 721110, and the small business size standard is $30.0 million. THIS IS NOT A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), an agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is the Federal agency that advances U.S. agricultural interests abroad. The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) links U.S. agriculture to the world to enhance export opportunities and global food security. In addition to its headquarters located in Washington, D.C., FAS has a global network of 98 offices in 75 countries covering 156 countries. These offices are staffed by agricultural attachs and locally hired staff that are the eyes, ears, and voice for U.S. agriculture around the world. FAS staff identify problems, provide practical solutions, and work to advance opportunities for U.S. agriculture and support U.S. foreign policy around the globe. The workshop will be held in Miami, Florida for three consecutive days from September 20-22, 2011. The hotel shall provide the facilities and services necessary to perform the requirements of this contract including, but not limited to, guest rooms, meeting rooms, food and beverages, audio visual equipment, and business center services at the fixed prices specified herein. The hotel shall provide the facilities, for guest rooms and meetings/functions, and services for the workshop in the same hotel and on a 1st option basis. Be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990, 15 U.S.C. 2201 et seq, (Public Law 101-391) and hold a FEMA certification number; 2. Be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et seq. (ADA); and 3. Have one of the following ratings: First class or higher per the Official Hotel Guide; three diamonds or higher per AAA; three crowns or higher per the OAG Business Travel Planner.
