- Description
- Sources Sought FA9453-11-VPMSS This is a market research survey for a identify sources for developing the VPM Instrument for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Space Experiments and Programs Branch at Kirtland AFB, NM. This effort is to develop, design, build, test and deliver a suite of instruments that will operate as a receiver for very low frequency (VLF) radio waves from terrestrial lightning, fixed VLF transmitters, and space-based transmitters. These measurements will permit a quantification of the forces responsible for radiation belts dynamics including the injection efficiency of terrestrial and space-based VLF transmitters. Onboard particle detectors will measure electrons precipitated by natural and anthropogenic waves, constraining the chain of efficiency calculations from waves to particles.
