Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE - Masonry Wall Repairs, Bldg 1, Phases 12 & 20, Located at the Jesse Brown VA Hospital, 820 South Damen Avenue, Chicago Illinois. Project # 537-10-129. Contractor shall provide all tools, materials, components, labor and supervision to perform exterior building masonry repairs of approximately 18,000 net square foot area, (gross (-) minus windows) for phases 12 & 20 as provided in the scope of work, drawings, and specifications. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006, Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is 100% Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms. The SDVOSB must be registered and Center for Veterans Enterprise, (CVE), verified in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, http://ccr.gov, and http://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. In accordance with the class deviation to 804.1102 Vendor Information Pages (VIP) Database effective October 1, 2010 and with the subsequently passed Public Law 111-275, all SDVOSB and VOSB firms must be verified by the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) prior to receiving an award under this program. If the successful bidder is listed in the VIP database but not verified, the CO must contact the bidder and advise the bidder that it has 5 days to request that its verification be expedited. CVE will then make a verification determination within 21 days. A firm MUST be currently listed in the Vendor Information Pages (VIP) to receive this expedited verification. The solicitation will be issued on/about June 17, 2011 with the bid opening on/about Aug 5, 2011. Dissemination of the solicitation is limited to electronic medium. All interested Bidders (primes & subcontractors) should register at www.fedbizopps.gov so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement and for automatic receipt of updates or amendments. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at www.fedbizopps.gov. By registering to "Receive Notification", you will be notified by e-mail of any new amendments that have been issued and posted. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers. All requests for information are required to be in writing to the Contracting Officer at michael.gove@va.gov no telephone inquiries will be accepted. Award is subject to the availability of funds. There will be a pre-bid walkthrough held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid walkthrough will be included in the solicitation package. The period of performance for this contract is 180 calendar days after notice to proceed has been issued. The project magnitude range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238140; size standard $14.0 million applies.
