- Brand Name Justification Letter. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a small business set aside because it has been determined that a small business can provide the necessary requirements. The solicitation number is FM442711511327; this solicitation is a request for quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-52 effective 31 May 2011; Defense DCN 20110608 effective 08 June 2011, and AFAC 2011-0421 effective 21 April 2011. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333314. The business size standard is 500 employees. The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is 6640. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3827. Travis AFB has a requirement for 7 Nikon microscopes with 3 Phase and Gout configurations as well as a Nikon high resolution digital camera that can connect to each of the 7 microscopes. Specifications: Nikon Digital Sight Digital Camera - 6640L09030090 (Quantity: 1) Nikon digital camera with U2 control to link to a PC and accessories to attach to a Nikon 50i microscope. High resolution camera that will be used to visualize and identify cellular structures and the controller will transmit the information at a high speed.
