Description

This proposed contract action announces the Government's notice of intent to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Sole source will be to Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) for a basic year and two (2) option years. Description of services: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, tools and parts to maintain the F-16 Robotic Paint Stripping Cell located on Hill Air Force Base, Utah. SwRI is the only organization with engineers and engineering technicians trained specifically on this system. The de-paint process is a necessary part of the programmed depot maintenance for F-16's and the Robotic De-paint system's robotic controls and software is proprietary to Southwest Research Institute. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
