This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small businesses, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business or HUBZone small businesses capable of providing a Brand Name or Equal to P/N 1152572,CHAMELEON SYSTEM: VISION ii: INTEGRATED PRECOMPENSATION: 80 MHz: (RoHS). The Chameleon Vision II, hands-free ultrafast Ti:Sapphire laser and precompensation in an integrated package. Provides femtosecond pulses tuning 400nm, from 680nm to 1080nm, with a peak power of> 3 W and a maximum of 47,000 fs2 of negative dispersion. The fully automated hands free dispersion compensation integrated in a single box delivers shorter pulses at the sample. The combination of short pulses, high power and widest tuning gives brighter and deeper images. We require a solid-state ultra fast laser to complete the se-up and enable the operation of our new 7MP microscope for intravital imaging. The laser that is required should meet the following specifications: Tuning range of 680nm 1080nm with required output average power of > 3.0. Average power must be 500mW at 680nm, and 180mW at 1080nm Wavelength tuning speed must be >40 nm/sec. Pulse width approximately 140 fSec. Pointing stability should be <80 microradians per 100 nm of tuning. The laser system must be able to automatically vary the amount of dispersion compensation from 0-47,000 fs^2. System must include a compact, closed-loop air filtration and recirculation unit. System has an onboard spectrometer. System has a small (<1 cubic foot) chiller that is all solid-state design and quiet. System should be user controllable either via RS232 or via the panel interface. Laser system should not exceed 31 in length and 15 in width Basis for Award: Offerors must provide descriptive literature or other material that demonstrates their offer meets the forgoing requirements. The contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror whose offer fully meets the requirements of the solicitation, provides the best value, with price and technical factors equally important in award evaluation.
