Description
PLEASE NOTE FUNDS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR THIS PROJECT. The solicitation for this project will be posted to FedBizOps on or about July 14, 2011 The Onion Creek Culvert Replacement project is an aquatic restoration that restores vital fish habitat and connectivity in the North Fork John Day River Basin. The existing culvert is a squashed approximately 5' diameter pipe by 120' long. It is on a 55 degree skew to Forest Road 73. Forest road 73 is designated as a Forest Highway. It is a two lane paved surface road and will not be closed during the project. Therefore, a by-pass road will be required. A suggested by-pass configuration will be included in the plans attached to the final solicitation. Alternate by-pass configurations presented by the contractor after award will be considered. The new structure shall be a 16 foot pre-cast concrete 3-sided box culvert with wing walls, curb and guardrail. The new structure shall be skewed at 45 degrees to the road. The project also includes a stream by-pass during construction, over 200 feet of stream reconstruction and simulation, re-contouring of existing fill slopes, and paving. The project is located on Forest Road 73 in Baker County, OR approximately 8 miles north of Granite, OR (T7S, R35E, SW ¼ of Section 35). The project is easily accessed from Ukiah using Forest Road 52, Starkey using Forest Roads 51 and 52, and Granite using Forest Road 73. All of the listed routes are paved and other paved routes exist. This project is estimated to be between $250,000 and $500,000.
