Description
RML Generator Relocation Project FAR 52.232-18 Availability of Funds (Apr 1984) Funds are not presently available for this contract. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer. (End of clause) The Generator Relocation project, located at the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) in Hamilton, MT, includes an addition to the existing Building 27 to accommodate new and existing generators relocated from around the campus, including associated appurtenances such as paralleling gear, transformers, fuel tanks, load bank, noise mitigation systems, and connecting feeders along with selective demolition work. RML is a research campus consisting of approximately 35 acres and 30 buildings. This project will be completed on an occupied campus and will require significant coordination and work sequencing to keep systems functional and provide emergency power while generators are relocated. Building 27 is an existing pre-engineered metal building of approximately 1,960 gsf with masonry part way up the walls. The addition is proposed to be approximately 5,300 gsf. This project relocates 3 existing 1,250 KW generators to building 27 and adds 1 new 1,500 KW generator (Bid alternate). Work will include new primary service to medium voltage paralleling and distribution gear. New electrical distribution system will include new pad mounted transformers and up to 5,000 LF of underground conduits and feeders. Fire protection will be added for the entire Building 27. Noise mitigation features include mufflers on the generator exhaust, wall panels and sound attenuators on air intake and exhaust. Lighting protection, fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, and building automation systems are part of the project for the building as well as connection to the central campus systems. Fuel storage tanks and fuel delivery piping and controls as well as masonry screen walls are included. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The complete solicitation will be posted sometime during the week of 18 July - 22 July 2011.
