Description
The work of this project requires the Contractor to provide all labor, materials and equipment as needed to strip and re-roof five historic structures located at Point Reyes National Seashore, in Marin County, CA. All work will be performed incrementally requiring the contractor to initially remove and dispose of existing roofing materials. The NPS Historic Preservation Crew will then make necessary repairs to the rafters and sheathing as needed. Upon their completion the contractor will follow and install new roofing materials and flashing as required. All structures are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The contractor shall take every precaution to avoid damaging the historic structure and surrounding features. The work will consist of: 1) M Ranch Horse Barn (approx 1920 SF) - Remove existing metal, sawn wood shingles underneath and skip sheathing to the rafters and then install new 2x4 nailers at 3' center and new 24 gauge galvalume corrugated metal roofing and appropriate flashing; 2) Teixera Ranch Main House (approx 190 SF hot mopped and 1320 SF shingled) - Remove flat tar and gravel section to the deck and on sloped rafter sections to the rafters and then install new underlayment and hot mop tar and gravel, with appropriate flashing on the flat deck area and lay 3/4" CDX plywood, 30lb tar paper and new asphalt 3 tab shingles with appropriate flashing on the sloped rafter sections; 3) M Ranch Old Milking Barn, West Side (approx 150' x 40') - Remove existing metal, sawn wood shingles underneath and skip sheathing to the rafters and then install new 2x4 nailers at 4' on center, and new 24 gauge galvalume corrugated metal roofing and appropriate flashing; 4) M Ranch Old Milking Barn, East Side (same as 3 above); 5) B Ranch Main House (approx 1925 SF of cedar shingles and 108 SF or roll roofing) (Additive Item) - Remove asphalt and wood shingles to the skip sheathing and then install new Grade A Blue Label cedar shingles with a 4-1/2" reveal, with stainless steel fasteners and appropriate copper flashing, and replace underlayment, roll roofing and flashing to smaller area; 6) L Ranch Horse Barn (approx 1920 SF) (Additive Item) - Remove existing metal, sawn wood shingles and skip sheathing to the rafters and install new 2x4 nailers at 3' on center, and new 24 gauge galvalume corrugated metal roofing and appropriate flashing. The project range is estimated to be between $250,000 and $500,000. Project completion is expected to be within one year of the Notice to Proceed, anticipating an approximate 60 day completion period per line item with no work being performed during the rainy season. A site visit will be conducted on July 27, 2011 at 1:00pm. It is anticipated to take approximate 3 hours to visit all structures. The Contractor is responsible for periodically checking the website for any Amendments that may be issued prior to the closing date. A planholders list will not be made available. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The NAICS code is 238160 and the small business size standard is $14.0 million in average gross annual receipts for the past 3 fiscal years.
