- Description
- This Special Notice announces the Government's intention to extend the existing Cost-Plus-Award-Fee (CPAF) Mission Communications Operations and Maintenance (MCOM) contract FA2550-02-C-0007, for Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) maintenance requirements only. All other services provided under this contract are currently in the process of converting to Air Force Civil Service positions. Currently the MCOM contracted services are provided by Harris IT Services Corporation and administered by the 50th Contracting Squadron in support of the 50th Space Wing, 50th Space Communications Squadron (50 SCS) at Schriever AFB. The period of performance for this contract extension is contemplated for 1 Sep 11 through 31 Aug 12. This extension will allow additional time to complete the in-sourcing and hiring of the DRSN maintenance personnel and will ensure uninterrupted support to the critical needs of the 50 SCS. The Government intends to execute a Justification and Approval (J&A) for extension of contract services for nine months with a three month option pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, in accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(15)(ii), "all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency."
