- Description
- The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) plans to purchase up to two (2) new sets of miter gate wall quoin contact blocks and miter gate miter and quoin contact blocks. All blocks will be fabricated of austenitic stainless steel UNS 21800 "Nitronic 60" or of an alloy having similar physical and chemical properties and performance characteristics. Each contact block set will be comprised of approximately 166 ft. of wall quoin blocks, 166 ft. of miter gate miter contact blocks and 166 ft. of miter gate quoin contact blocks. The wall quoin contact blocks will be approximately 2½ in. thick by 12 in. wide, in individual lengths from approximately 11 ft. to 12 ft. and having a machined concave contact surface. The miter gate miter and quoin contact blocks will be approximately 2½ in. thick by 8 in. wide, in individual lengths varying from approximately 7 ft. to 11 ft. and will have machined concave or convex contact surfaces. There will be an option to furnish each contact block set with or without drilled and tapped holes. The estimated total weight for a complete contact block set to fully equip one (1) miter gate is 43,200 lbs. The Corporation plans to order a minimum of one (1) complete contact block set prior to September 1, 2011, with an option to order the other set prior to September 30, 2012. The solicitation, including drawings, will be available for downloading on the fedbizopps website on or about July 20, 2011 with a response date of August 22, 2011. Delivery of the first set of blocks will be required by June 30, 2012 or sooner. Award of a firm fixed price contract with economic price adjustment will be made on or about August 26, 2011. Attention: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs). The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
