Description

The Program Support Center, plans to award a sole source Simplified Acquisition action to American Hospital Association(AHA) Systems. Purchase of the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals 2005 through 2009 provides HHS analysts with a wealth of information on all hospitals in the U.S. The data will be used for the Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) project in addition to an HP internal research project on "Geographic Variations in Medicare Spending and Utilization". Specifically, this data is a component of the Supply-Factor Database that HP intends to build in order to develop a more detailed view of provider supply in local health care markets and to better account for spending and utilization variations due to differences in local supply factors. THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE (FAR6.302-1). INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE REQUIREMENT. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
