- Technical Exchange Meeting DNS Infrastructure and WLAN Reference Architectures Monday, July 18 th, 2011 7525 Colshire Drive, McLean, VA DHS Federal Network Security Branch (FNS) invites industry leaders in Domain Name System (DNS) and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) to participate in a Technical Exchange Discussion on July 18 th, 2011 at the MITRE Headquarters in McLean, VA. This meeting is for the technical exchange of information only. No procurement actions are planned relative to the content of this meeting. To support Federal agency cybersecurity operational compliance, DHS has collaborated with agency partners to draft Reference Architectures for DNS Infrastructure and Wireless LANs. Each Reference Architecture is a pragmatic guide that enables agencies to implement efficient, secure DNS and WLAN solutions. FNS requests feedback from industry leaders on the two Reference Architectures: DNS Reference Architecture 9:30am to Noon Document Scope: Authoritative DNS Services Cashing DNS Resolver Services DNSSEC Authentication DNS Logging and domain filters WLAN Reference Architecture 1:00pm to 3:30pm Document Scope: Agency WLAN architecture GuestNets Wireless Device Management Rogue Access Point Detection The purpose of the Technical Exchange is to receive the opinion of industry on the conceptual design and content of the two Reference Architectures. Although these documents will influence the implementation strategies of agencies, this meeting will not deal with any future procurement contract vehicles. The technical exchange will be strictly limited to discussing the material in the Reference Architecture documents.
