General Information Commanding General 2200 Lester Street Code CTQ026 Quantico, VA, 22134-5060 RFI: M6785411I6015 Ammendment II The United States Marine Corps is currently seeking information for the research and development of a Common Laser Range Finder Integrated Capability (CLRF IC) system to replace the currently fielded CLRF suite of equipment. The Marine Corps has a requirement to provide a device that will incorporate the various components of the CLRF suite of equipment into one system. This system will provide improved integrated night-vision capability, internal Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) GPS, non-magnetic azimuth capability, and limit the need for external components, cables, and batteries. A draft of the Performance Specification for the Common Laser Range Finder Integrated Capability Light has been attached to this Request for Information (RFI) for vendor comment. Vendors capable of developing a system that demonstrates the specifications listed in the Performance Specification are invited to submit a response to this RFI. Vendors should submit descriptions of their design concept that will convey their ability to develop the system and their view on the best the solution-based contract type; highlight the relevant risk areas, provide nominal schedule, and cost estimates. Vendors are also requested to identify any specifications which may drive excessive cost or technical risk. Vendors should address their ability to comply with all security requirements with respect to including a SAASM GPS within their system and whether a requirement for the use of a Government-furnished GB Gram may impact their design concept. Interested sources are requested to respond no later than 5:00pm EST on 15 JULY 2011 stating their CAGE Code, DUNS number, copy of GSA schedule(if appropriate), business size, SIC Code, and the complete contract information for a corporate point of contact. This RFI is for planning and market research purposes, therefore it shall not be construed as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as obligation on the part of the Government to acquire products or services. Responses shall be treated as information only and part of market research and will not be shared outside of the Government. All information shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government, no entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges to the Government as a result of contractor responses to this announcement.
