- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Mettler Toledo of Columbus, Ohio, for a Service Maintenance Contract, for five Mettler Toledo Mass Comparators currently being used by the Mechanical Metrology Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Sole Source determination is based on Mettler Toledo being the original equipment manufacturer capable in providing maintenance service, in accordance with the original equipment specifications. Mettler Toledo is the only known vendor capable in providing the required service. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, and the size standard is $19M. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, responses received by July 15, 2011 will be considered by the Government.
