Description
Solicitation Subcontractor to provide all materials, tools, labor and equipment to erosion control measures along specified ditched and embankments along the NAR corridor. Areas of work to be performed are outlined in line item fashion in the Scope Detail (attached Section J, Attachment N). Areas along the corridor to be repaired are marked by white "numbered" tags attached to the corridor fence. Numbers on the tags correspond to the item numbers in the Scope Detail. There shall be no deviation from the original scope except as allowed through ANCDF Subcontracts as required depending on the changes being recommended. Any additional erosion issues discovered during work execution shall be brought to the attention of the Process Coordinator prior to proceeding with any further work in that area. General Work Requirements Material Requirements - Riprap shall conform to Class 1 as defined in the Alabama Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications for Highway Construction. Riprap used shall be limestone. Decorative grade riprap is not required. Depending on availability, local quarries may substitute a grade of riprap called #1 Surge Material. This material is an acceptable for erosion control applications. The gravel material used by industry standard #4 limestone gravel. Subcontractor(s) will participate in the pre-job briefings to ensure that good communications are established with ANCDF Subcontracts and Maintenance before any work begins. Extreme caution shall be taken to ensure that unplanned outages will not occur. All work along the corridor shall be coordinated with ANAD Security. Proper barricading and traffic control personnel shall be used when vehicles block traffic. Staging of Equipment and Materials Gravel and riprap may be staged along either side of North Access Road so long as the following conditions are met: •· Materials shall be kept 4' or more from the road's right of way •· Materials shall be kept 10' or more from the security fence (in such a way as to prevent "easy climbing" access over the fence) •· Materials can not block any side road or access path trailing from North Access Road (regardless of apparent "frequency of use") Heavy equipment or any vehicle shall not be stowed overnight at any point along North Access Road. Such vehicles may be parked overnight in the "Lower Parking Lot" near Gate 5A Guardhouse.
