- This Small Business Sources Sought Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business 8a small business or HUBZone small businesses capable of serving as a consultant who is an expert in adult and pediatric urology, is a board-certified clinical urologist and has advanced knowledge of the physiology of urological systems, and clinical investigation in urology. The urology consultant will assist the staff members of DKUHD who have taken over the project administration of the Urology programs. The urology consultant is provide assistance and knowledge in regards to urinary tract and disorders of the blood and blood-forming organs, urologic chronic pelvic pain disorders, Women's Urological Health and urinary incontinence. However, the consultant will be called for their knowledge on Kidney: end-stage renal disease, kidney disease of diabetes, IgA nephropathy, hemolytic uremic syndrome, polycystic kidney disease, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, acute renal failure, and fluid and electrolyte disorders. Bladder (lower urinary tract): benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary tract infections, stones, impotence, urinary incontinence and interstitial cystitis. Blood and blood-forming organs: sickle cell disease, Cooley's anemia (thalassemia), and hemochromatosis. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code 541720 with a size standard of $6.5M. All respondents are requested to identify their firms size and type of business. Interested firms responding to this market survey must provide three (3) capability statement demonstrating their experience, skills and capability to fulfill the Governments requirements for the above. The capability statement shall be in sufficient enough detail, but not to exceed 15 pages, so that the Government can determine the experience and capability of your firm to provide the requirements above. Your capability statement, not to exceed 15 pages, should include references. A copy of the capability statement must be received at the address identified in this synopsis by no later than ten (10) days prior to close of business (12:00 P.M. local time at designated location) on July 14, 2011. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
