- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR HIGHREPETITION POWER PULSED LASER.Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in theirquote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/ Request forQuotation (RFQ) and a written amendment will not be issued.The purpose of this amendment is to add the following requirements to the RFQ:In addition to the specifications and instructions in the RFQ, the Offeror shall alsoprovide the following:A Technical Datasheet shall be required with the quotation. The Technical Datasheetshall include the following:1.Typical 2D/3D beam images at the exit port of the laser.2.Typical Power (W) vs. Repetition Rate (kHz); an average power curve over a rangeof repetition rate.3.Typical Temporal Pulse Width (ns) vs. Repetition Rate (kHz); a pulsewidth curveover a range of repetition rate.The awarded Contractor shall provide another Technical Datasheet upon delivery of thelaser that shall include the following:1.Actual 2D/3D beam images at the exit port of the laser and at 2 m distance fromthe exit port. This is to inspect the beam size/mode/quality and its divergence. Burnpaper is not acceptable.2.Actual Power (W) vs. Repetition Rate (kHz); an average power curve over a rangeof repetition rate from 1 kHz to >10 kHz.3.Actual Temporal Pulse Width (ns) vs. Repetition Rate (kHz); a pulsewidth curveover a range of repetition rate from 1 kHz to >10 kHz.4.Actual pulse-to-pulse energy stability measurement at full power at 1 kHzoperation over a period of time (e.g, 20 min.) after the warm-up. Installation and Demonstration Required at the Site1.A laser technician or equivalent qualified operator shall install the system atthe site (NASA GRC) and demonstrate the laser hardware/software operation. All costs forthe installation and demonstration shall be included in the Offerors quotation.The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 5, 2001. Documents related to thisprocurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web(WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
