- This Amendment is issued to notify Interested Vendors that all further presolicitation and solicitation information for this procurement can be found under Solicitation # HSCG50-11-B-PJT147. This is a sources sought notice only, no solicitation is being issued at this time. The anticipated procurement is for upgrade of Barracks 4 at Base Support Unit Kodiak, Alaska. This building is a 17,403 square foot, two story barracks with partial basement. Work shall include replacement of the existing siding. Replacement of that siding will include new structural plywood sheathing, rigid insulation on vertical wood battens, and fiber cement siding on a ventilation/weather resistant ("rainscreen") layer. Additional seismic work includes adding steel bracing to existing steel framework. Incidental civil work involves limited paving and sidewalk demolition/replacment for installation of a ramp and subsurface drainage tie-in for gutter downspouts. Minor mechanical and electrical work includes replacement of the building's air handling unit, adding sprinklers to a storage room and miscellaneous electrical work associated with exterior lighting replacment and code compliance. An option exists to perform similar work to Barracks 5 which would be awarded at time of contract award if funds are available. The anticipated construction range is $1 to 5 million. Interested contractors should respond by registering on the Interested Vendor List for this procurement. The amount of information available for publication at this time is limited to the information provided above. This notice is issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10.
