Description
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Office of Acquisitions, COAC Services Branch, has a requirement for the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), NIH Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC) to procure a cbot Cluster Generation System, Automated System. NISC is a centralized research facility for performing high-throughput, large-scale DNA sequencing and sequence analysis. NISC is in need of an instrument that will reduce hands-on time to less than 10- minutes compared to more than 6 hours for the emulsions PCT-based protocols. The cBot is an automated clonal amplification system that creates clonal clusters from single molecule DNA templates. The c-bot sequencing technology provides an easy-to-use protocol that does not require emulsion PCR which allows for a self-contained system that minimizes handling errors and contamination concerns, eliminating the need for robotics or clean rooms. The cBot system has pre-configured reagents which help reduce contamination and preparation time. Product Description : cbot Cluster Generation System, Catalog Number: SY-301-2002, Quantity One (1) Each. The cbot Cluster Generation system includes a touch screen monitor, computer, and twelve month warranty on parts and labor. This system must be compatible with Illumina HiSeq 2000 System and Illumina's GAllx Sequencer.TRADE IN: Cluster Station, Serial Number: 100101, Model 408, NIH Number: 01676713. The trade-in must be addressed in proposal in order to be considered for the award. Cbot System : • Amplify greater than 96 samples in 4-5 hours with less than 10 minutes of hands-on time. • Straightforward protocols that require no beads or emulsions. • Simple touch-screen interface to operate machine. • Reagents are in convenient volumes and are ready-to-load. • Oil is not required for the optics. Inspection and Acceptance Requirements : • The Contractor will deliver an undamaged package upon arrival of equipment to the required destination. • The Contractor will ensure installation of the equipment, all parts including computer must be functional and running in proper order. The delivery and acceptance F.O. B. Point is Rockville, Maryland. This requirement is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516, Size Standard is 500 employees. Set aside for small business. Proposals are due July 18, 2011 by 7:30 a.m. local time.
