Description
Description: The US Army Contracting Command, Picatinny on behalf of theProject Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM-MAS), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is currently seeking sources for the production, testing, inspection, packaging and delivery of.50 Caliber Short Range Training Ammunition (SRTA) Cartridges in a.50 Cal M858 Ball and M860 Tracer Plastic linked 4:1 (M848:M860) configuration (A602). These cartridges provide the ability to increase the frequency of training and hence the proficiency of the user by allowing training in areas previously closed by range restrictions. The cartridges are designed to be used in the Caliber.50 M2 machine gun with a M3 Recoil Adapter. The maximum safety range is 700 meters and the effective training range is 150 meters. The Tracer cartridge exhibits a visible trace up to 150 meters. Specification: The cartridges shall conform to the requirements of Drawings #12598606 (tracer) and #12598607 (ball), and MIL-PRF-70723 (Draft dated 28 April 2008). A copy of the performance specification may be obtained by written notice to the point of contact listed below. Planned Acquisition: The projected quantities for FY13 FY17 will be approximately 750K - 1.5M each fiscal year. Submission Information: All responsible interested sources should submit their capabilities/level of maturity data within 30 days of this notice to: Mr. William Labance, william.labance@us.army.mil, Contract Specialist, Army Contracting Command Picatinny, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. The respondents capabilities information must describe the level of production capacity per year for the successful manufacture and delivery of A602 cartridges. Respondents must also describe the level of maturity of their.50 Cal SRTA design in accordance with the above cited performance specification and provide testing and/or verification data. It is also requested that respondents submit an economic production rate rough order of magnitude for the planned acquisition quantity range described in this market survey. In order to obtain copies of Drawings #12598606 (tracer) and #12598607 (ball), and MIL-PRF-70723 (Draft dated 28 April 2008), interested parties must submit their request to the undersigned. Submittal of information request via electronic mail should be sent to Mr. William Labance, william.labance@us.army.mil, voice 973-724-6673, no later than 15 days after issuance of this announcement.
