- **Due Date Extension: Due date for responses to this Sources Sought notice is extended from July 20 to July 22, 2011. Please respond if you are interested in this upcoming procurement.** The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Acquisition Management, hereby solicits responses to this Sources Sought notice from interested offerors with the resources and capabilities to perform the tasks listed in the Draft Statement of Work, attached. Please submit your expressions of interest, comments, questions, etc., to the Sarah.Tarpgaard@dot.gov by July 20, 2011. See attached for submittal content instructions. USDOT anticipates award of one contract for performance of the contract entitled, " Transit Safety Retrofit Package (TRP) Development" in support of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA) Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office. This is a new requirement and as such there is no incumbent contractor. T he planned period of performance is 26 months. The planned contract type is Cost Plus Fixed Fee. This is a Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose for this Sources Sought announcement is to conduct market research to identify potential offerors having an interest in, and the resources to support this requirement. More specifically, the purpose of this notice is to obtain information, for planning purposes, regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified sources to perform the work described below; (2) the size classification of the available and capable sources relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition; and (3) obtain industry feedback and input on the draft Statement of Work included below. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method.
