- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to OpGen Inc. located at 708 Quince Orchard Road, Gaithersburg, MD. for maintenance services and consumable supplies to operate the Argus Optical Mapping System at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in Silver Spring, MD. The proposed contractor, OpGen Inc. has proprietary rights of the Argus Mapping System. OpGen is also the sole manufacturer and distributor of all software, equipment and reagents for the Argus Optical Mapping System. The WRAIR purchased the Argus Mapping System in 2010 so that Isolates submitted from Department of Defense Medical Treatment Facilities worldwide can be validated and tested. This contract is being established to that WRAIR can continue to obtain the consumable supplies and required maintenance and services needed to operate the Argus system. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. All sources eligible to provide this service must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence that clearly show the ability to provide services outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. After the publication of this announcement for fifteen (15) days, a solicitation will be posted for five (5) days under solicitation W81XWH-11-R-0355.
