Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Caribbean Healthcare System, NCA 8 SAO East San Juan, Puerto Rico intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with American Red Cross, GPO Box 366046 San Juan, PR 00936 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This action is for the procurement of services to provide blood and blood components services, emergency and non-emergency basis, in such quantities and at such times that satisfies the needs of the Transfusion Department at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, Pathology and laboratory Services. Contractor policies must meet the standards and guidelines of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Regulations, American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and The Joint Commission (TJC). Contractor must be a local entity.THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No solicitation package is available. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to these requirements by July 19 2011 10:00AM Caribbean/Puerto Rico. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
