Set Aside: n/a NOTICE TEXT: The United States Army Medical Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, a firm fixed price contract, IAW FAR 6.302-1 (1)(ii) under the authority of the test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996), with Bio Sero, LLC 4186 Sorrento Valley Blvd. Ste. H San Diego, CA 92121-1414., as the only responsible source that can provide the customized services needed to fulfill this acquisition. This requirement is for a customized Bigneat RB 2200 Bio-Safety Enclosure for (2) Mini Janus platforms and a Gecko plate labeler to interface with the current Janus Mini-platform plate preparation Unit (59) and Gecko plate labeler. The Bigneat biological safety enclosure shall be custom manufactured based on the specific size requirements to contain and provide special access to the two PE Janus liquid handling instruments and Gecko automated plate labeling instrument contained within the enclosure. The materials used to make the enclosure, as as the access features are unique to Bignet, the manufacturer. Custom features specifically designed for this application include: Custom enclosure features: Sealed hinged doors will be strategically positioned for ease of operation and maintenance, Sealed electrical control panel for fan motor controls and lighting, Custom slide and mounting bracket for the Gecko labeler to enable easier operator access and future maintenance, Internal electrical outlets mounted flush to rear surface of the enclosure, Noise level: < 65db, Custom sealed electrical cable gland/ tube services ports, Locking/leveling heavy duty casters used for complete mobility if needed, All front doors with windows, and side/rear panel windows shall be 8mm thick acrylic, which eliminates bending and warping over time, Custom dimensions and design allows the enclosure to fit within the small space constraints of the laboratory, while providing both levels of protection needed, Air flow: The HEPA filtered down-flow air (providing product sterility) is drawn down from the roof to the working surface, and exhausted into the room via the "custom" HEPA filtered exhaust (providing operator protection) underneath the deck of the work surface. This bio safety design is a unique 100% pass through system, 100% air is drawn in, and 100% HEPA filtered air is exhausted out, Plate Labeler Specific Features: Specific side for the front access door TBD during drawing review and approval, Access ports: Each side panel will have one 4-way Roctec gland located at the bottom rear corner for power outlet cabling, and any, additional cables and tubing, Screening Plate Reader (Spl) Gecko plate label access: one Spl sliding tray w/ tracks added for Gecko access toward the front of the enclosure, Tip waste: required front chutes near the center for each Janus instrument. The final hole locations in the deck will be determined by PE, and/or US AMRIID during the final drawing approval process, which will determine if the exhaust fans need to be split underneath. Two sealed waste containers will be included. Plate Labeler Minimum Essential Characteristics: PC controlled system, Cycle time <3 seconds, Control software supplied, Placement accuracy of +/-0.25mm Placement accuracy, Interface RS232, Label size 0f 3.2mm to 19mm in height and 40mm to 75 mm in length, Barcode verification standard, Label placement position on plate can be accurately achieved using the stepper motor drive for up & down motion, Integration friendly as any plate can be run without the need for user assistance, Plate create software as standard allowing the user to design plates to be used on system, Label temperature range of -80 C to 100 C, Label and plate sensing, can be used as a raw barcode reader, in an integration cell. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 423490, Other Professional Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers and the Standard Size is 100. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identifiy their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Bio Sero, LLC.
