Description
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Procurement Operations (OPO), Science and Technology Acquisition Division (S&T) has a requirement to support operation and any necessary maintenance activities, and assistance with data analysis, for the prototype detectors developed as part of the Lightweight Autonomous Chemical Identification System (LACIS) Project by Smith Detection Edgewood. It is the intent of S&T to award a contract on a sole-source basis for a period of twelve-months or more to Smiths Detection Edgewood, 2202 Lakeside Blvd., Edgewood, MD 21040-1102. This sole- source award will be in accordance with the authority set-forth in 41 U.S.C. 253(c) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest by responding within 15 days after this announcement with a capability statement, which documents capability and experience in providing support for the prototype detectors. This notice of intent is not a request for a competitive proposal. However, all inquiries received within 15 days after the date of this publication, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received, will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to compete this requirement.
