Description

The scope of work includes the replacement of carpet tiles throughout Buildings 3, 5, 6 and 36 at NSA Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and incidental related work. The new carpet is to replace the majority of the existing carpet which is in poor condition due to age and heavy traffic wear. One typical corridor and open office area floor design will be provided for use in all four buildings to maintain consistency; however, there are some exceptions. A portion of Building 5, Bay "C" has recently received new carpet and will not be included in the carpet replacement project scope of work. The Command Suite on the Second Floor of Building 36 will receive a separate carpet replacement design. Each building has a Vending Area where new porcelain tile surface is to replace the existing vinyl composition floor tile at all vending equipment. All buildings will remain occupied during the carpet / flooring replacement and employees must be minimally interrupted and able to continue with their normal work function to the highest extent possible. Therefore, installation of the new carpet is to take place after normal operating hours, during a series of phases within each building. Existing systems furniture will be sequentially lifted in place for removal of existing carpet, existing surface preparation and installation of the new carpet.
