WM System Description MC System Description GP System Description This Industry Day Announcement is for the following three Request for Proposals (RFP) at SMC: GP RFP # FA8807-11-R-0001 MC RFP # FA8808-11-R-0009 WM RFP # FA8803-11-R-0001 Small Business Reference Number: 11-72 (previously posted under GPS 11-56, dated 23 May 2011 and MAISES 11-31 dated 18 January 2011. NAICS Code: 541712 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology). The associated size standard to be considered a small business is 1000 employees. Event Description: An industry day will be conducted at Los Angeles Air Force Base on 2 and 3 August 2011. A general session will be held 2 August from 0800 - 1230 for the purpose of discussing and answering questions regarding Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) acquisitions for the SMC Global Positioning Systems (GP), Military Satellite Communications Systems (MC), and Defense Weather Systems (WM) directorates. One-on-one sessions for each directorate will begin at 1400, and continue on 3 August if required. One-on-one sessions are available by appointment on 2 and 3 August 2011. Please coordinate one-on-one session requests via email contact with the following: GP with Mr. Scott Thomas at smc.gpeo.ss@losangeles.af.mil, MC with Capt Ernest Kim at smc.mceo.ss@losangeles.af.mil, WM with Mr. Buddy Tan at smc.wmeo.ss@losangeles.af.mil, Industry Day Location: Gordon Conference Center (GCC), Building 270, 1st floor 200 North Douglas Street El Segundo, CA 90245-2808 Greeters will be at the Douglas Street entrance Visitor Control Center from 0730 until 0800 to provide directions to parking and the GCC. Industry Day Participants: Participants must be US citizens or legal residents and must submit visit requests. Submit visit requests and an alphabetized listing (by last name); include full name, SSN, cell phone (to be reached at the event), email, company name, # vehicles for company attendees, and driver names of the names of all attendees via e-mail NLT 4:00pm PST on 25 July 2011. Participants must have driver's license, proof of car insurance and proof of vehicle registration to drive inside Los Angeles Air Force Base. Because of space limitations, the number of participants per organization will be restricted to 3 per potential offeror. There is limited parking, so please carpool. Attendance at industry day will be voluntary. SMC will not provide any cost reimbursement for industry day attendance. Participation by small and small disadvantaged businesses is encouraged. System Descriptions: System Descriptions for GP, MC and WM are attached. Programmatics: An Ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested parties are invited to call James H. Gill at 310-653-1789.
