- Description
- Solicitation #1087043 Statement of Work (SOW)-Gaussian Computer software This RFQ constitutes a "brand name or equal to" solicitation. This solicitation is in accordance with FAR 52.211-6, Brand Name or Equal. Part I: General Information A. Introduction The Structural Biology section of the Laboratory of Bacterial Polysaccharides requires a commercial computer software package to carry out quantum mechanical calculations on carbohydrates. B. Background Because oligo- and polysaccharides are components of vaccines, LBP is currently engaged in a thorough evaluation oligo- and polysaccharide structure. To do this effectively, the structural data are collected on NMR spectrometers. However, most of the NMR data must be evaluated using computational methods. The lab currently has no software to effectively compute oligo- and polysaccharide structure and this renders the analysis incomplete. To best meet our mission goals, we must combine our experimental results with results from theory and calcualtions. C. Scope The Structural Biology section of the Laboratory of Bacterial Polysaccharides requires a computer program to calculate the structural, physical and spectral properties of carbohydrates using quantum mechanical methods. This computer program will also allow simple visualization of the theoretical structure. We will use these results to compare to experimental results obtained in the lab. Part II: Work Requirements A. Technical Requirements Technical Specifications: • Ability to calculate molecular structure using quantum mechanical methods • Ability to calculate NMR vibrational properties of molecules • Unlimited number of users • Ability to run on a cluster • Ability to visualize structures and query bond lengths, bond angles and other molecular properties. • Ability to view structures from a remote computer • Site license for use of all software B. Deliverables • Gaussian09 program, site license for FDA and the ability to visualize molecular properties using GaussView from remote computer workstations. Part III: Supporting Information A. Security Contractor shall contact Daron Freedberg upon arrival at NIH Building 29 loading dock from security desk 301-496-0837 C. Period of Performance Delivery and installation within 6-8 weeks of contract award Part IV: Evaluation Factors • Technical Requirements • Price Items Requested: 1 G09 Bin Licebse EM64T/LINUX 1 G09 User/IOps References 1 Expl.
