- Questions and Answers: 1. How many image sites will be sending images to the repository? Will the NIOSH facility in Morgantown also submit images to the repository? We estimate that about 50-100 sites will be sending images to the repository contractor. No, NIOSH will not submit images to the contractor. 2. We assume that the vendor's role is to confirm that the consent process has been completed and that NIOSH has been informed of this but due to restrictions on transmission of PHI, the consent forms themselves will not be transmitted to or managed by the image repository. Is this correct? It appears that all information in the repository is to be anonymous but obviously the consent forms are not. The contractor will only accept for insertion into the repository databank images for which consent has been obtained, and proof of consent submitted to the contractor. The contractor will remove any PHI or personal identifiers from the image and add a unique identifier to the image. The contractor is to then send NIOSH a report of how many images were received with an affirmation that each now anonymized image has been linked to a consent form. The contractor will need to maintain the consent forms that were sent to them, scanned to an electronic format, until the end of the contract, when the consent forms plus the whole anonymized image databank are to be returned to NIOSH in a manner that NIOSH cannot associate the consent to any particular image. 3. The RFQ requires the vendor to perform image quality assurance. Should this be construed as requiring a B Reader level review of image quality or are standard image library curation practices (e.g. no PHI present, correct image protocol used, correct anatomy imaged) sufficient? Just standard image library curation practices (e.g. no PHI present, correct image protocol used, correct anatomy imaged) are sufficient. There is no need for a B Reader level review of image quality.
