Description

This is a request for Standard Form 330, not a request for proposal. Provide professional engineering services to prepare the analysis, design, calculations, construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates for the Renovate Sixth Floor for Lab project; project number 585-11-114. The project includes the design for the renovation of the sixth floor to relocate the existing lab area from the second floor to the sixth floor, approximately 19,294 square feet of area, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, MI. Work consists of, but not limited to all required utilities such as, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic tube system, fire sprinkler, steam, security, fire alarm, also construction documents and specs, construction period services, and as-built drawings. This project is primarily Architectural and Planning in scope and shall have related Structural/ Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Plumbing/ Fire Protection Engineering services. Scope of work may include thorough Field Verification of existing conditions, preparation of schematic designs, space plans, construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, review of shop drawings & sample submittals, site visits and preparation of punch lists etc. for final acceptance. Estimated construction cost is between $250,000- $500,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 250 miles of Oscar G. Johnson VAMC, Iron Mountain, Michigan 49801. Submit two (2) copies of SF 330 with appropriate documentation by close of business August 18th, 2011. Email information to: Michael.Chester3@va.gov. Selection criteria will be based on: (1) specialized experience and technical competence of the firm (including a joint venture or association) with the type of design required, (2) specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project, (3) Maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (4) Knowledge in design and construction requirements; and (5) Cost control effectiveness. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). NAIC #541310 applies. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
