NAICS: 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction PROPOSED SOLICITATION NUMBER: FA7000-11-R-0021 CONTRACTING OFFICE ADDRESS Department of the Air Force, Direct Reporting Unit, USAF Academy - 10 CONS/LGCA, 8110 Industrial Drive, Suite 200, USAF Academy, CO 80840-2315. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: Between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000 DESCRIPTION This acquisition is to Renovate Vandenberg Hall, Building 2360, Construction Sequence 7 and with an Option to Renovate Vandenberg Hall, Building 2360, Construction Sequence 8 at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), CO. Construction Sequence 7 is currently a Straddle A project, and Construction Sequence 8 will be included as an Option to the contract award for Construction Sequence 7. The contractor shall supply all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and supervision to provide a complete, finished, functional product meeting project Specifications on the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). The contractor shall execute the project as shown in the contract project XQPZ 11-010G and XQPZ 11-0103H Drawings and project XQPZ 11-0103G and XQPZ 11-0103H Specifications. The project includes the following: • Fire suppression system • Plumbing systems • Demobilization • Asbestos abatement • Electrical • Cat 5 cable wiring • Mobilization • Demolition • Materials testing • Interior finishes • HVAC Units • Replace existing curtain wall • Interior finishes including floors, walls, and ceilings • Replace lavatories in Cadet Rooms, fixtures and cabinetry • New communications cabling and supporting accessories • Install wall mounted HVAC units in selected offices • New fire suppression system, fire detection, and alarm system • New plumbing systems and plumbing fixtures • New and refurbished HVAC systems • New electrical power systems and lighting • Conduct testing and abate asbestos, lead based paint, CFC and PCB's • Replace MTHW piping/hydronic heating distribution systems • Renovate non-cadet rooms The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. This requirement may be competed as full and open pursuant to FAR Part 6. The Small Business Administration has requested reexamination for potential small business set aside. Therefore, the response date for Sources Sought Synopsis FA7000-11-R-0021 has been extended to July 25, 2011, (12:00 PM Mountain). The solicitation will be issued on FedBizOpps at http://www.fbo.gov/. No paper copies of the solicitation, specifications, plans, mailing lists or associated solicitation documents will be issued from this office. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All interested parties must register on the FedBizOpps website in order to receive notification or changes and/or new postings to the solicitation. There will be no further pre-announcement of when the solicitation will be posted, however, the issuance date is anticipated on or around 2 August 2011 with a closing date 30 days after issuance. Two site visits are expected to be scheduled and the dates will be included in the Solicitation. Potential offerors are reminded that in accordance with DFARS 252.204-7004 all contractors are required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database in order to conduct business with the Department of Defense (DoD). Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
