Description
Construction Project No. 656-11-209, entitled 'Site Prep for Patient Lifts, Phase II'. This solicitation is issued as an IFB (Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) firms. All SDVOSB submitting an offer must be registered and will be verified by the Contracting Officer in the VetBiz Information pages located at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. Additionally, all bidders must be CVE certified as shown on vetbiz. All bidders must also be registered on www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. The NAICS Code 238210, along with size standard $14.0 million applies. The procurement is entitled 'Site Prep for Patient Lifts, Phase II ' at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, in St. Cloud Minnesota. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools and equipment required to install all electrical appurtenances necessary to provide power outlets for patient lift trolley battery chargers and relocation of television cable/power outlets in designated rooms of Building 51 at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System, in St. Cloud Minnesota. Project will consist of installing new junction boxes, conduits, wiring, receptacles, and miscellaneous fittings as necessary, cutting openings, trenching & creating cavities for conduits and receptacles in existing plaster/gypsum walls. Project will include restoring plaster, patching gypsum walls, finishing, painting, as required and certain other items necessary for the placement of power receptacles for the installation of patient lifts. All new power receptacles will be connected to each building's Critical Life Safety Power source. Successful bidder is to assure that each Critical Life Safety Power Panel possesses adequate power to provide power for the 0.75 amps required for each Lift Motor. All work shall be performed according to industry recommended standards & requirements, and in compliance with the contract documents and federal specifications. Special attention is to be made to review and comply with SECTION 01 00 00, GENERAL REQUIREMENTS paragraphs E through G of the accompanying specification sections concerning OSHA training. Work is to be completed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. There are two bid alternates. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on the FBO website (www.fbo.gov ). Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information is available free of charge on the www.fbo.gov website. Contract completion time is 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. NO BIDDER'S MAILING LISTS ARE MAINTAINED WITH THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $25,000 and $100,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing. No telephone calls will be returned. The solicitation will be issued on/about August 5, 2011. A pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for August 22, 2011 at 2:00PM CT, attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Sealed bid opening is 2:00PM CT (local time) on September 6, 2011. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires the bidders/contractors to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
