- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (1), with Notocord Inc., for purchase of necessary hardware and software to upgrade current ITS Telemetry Systems. The software and accompanying hardware is vital for ongoing Non-human Primates studies for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) projects. The requirement is for the USA Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at for Detrick. Notocord is uniquely qualified to meet the Government's need as they are the only company know to currently have the technology for the telemetry hardware and software upgrade required on the ITS Telemetry Acquisition System located at USAMRIID. With out the necessary upgrade the ongoing Non-Human Primate studies will be jeopardized. No solicitation package will be issued. However, responses received by August 26, 2011, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement.
