Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a Firm Fixed Price Delivery Order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement on a sole source basis with The General Electric (GE) Company, 1 Neumann Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215 for the technical support specifically related to the T-58 and T-700 engines currently installed on the VH-3D/VH-60N Presidential Helicopters. Specific support includes providing on-site proficiency training, technical instruction and advice in the evaluation/resolution of unusual field problems. Acquiring the technical support from GE will provide maintainer personnel access to expert knowledge of GE Engines and ability to obtain technical advice to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems in a timely manner. The Contract Specialist for this requirement is Mr. Charles Johnson, Air 2.3.1.2.4 (301) 995-2514. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
