Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: VA-243-11-RQ-0481 Sources Sought only. The Bronx VA is currently seeking Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB); Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), 8A, Hubzone, Small Economically Disadvantaged Small Business, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business, Woman Owned Small Businesses or other small businesses and large businesses. This is not a request for formal proposals or quotes. No formal solicitation document exists at this time, only general specifications for a Horton Model 503B, Emergency Bariatic Ambulance at the Lyons Campus located in Lyons, NJ. Vendor to provide an Horton Model 503B, Emergency Bariatic Ambulance vehicle to be procured for the Lyons Campus VA, located at 151 Knollcroft Rd., Lyons, NJ 07939. General Specifications are as follows: a.The ambulance must have an oversize cab with at least 18 inches of space behind the driver's seat in order to accommodate operators who are taller than 6 feet in height (this is due to the multi role that the VA Fire Department at Lyons functions in as both firefighters and emergency management technicians). b.The vehicle must come with a power-lift stretcher with at least a 800 pound capability. c.The vehicle must have an installed power lift winch with the capability of pulling a fully loaded stretcher into the ambulance (minimum 900 pound capacity). d.Due to the standard transportation route (Highway I 78 to and from East Orange, Highway I 287 to the local community hospitals), the vehicle must have additional lights to include front and rear light-bars compliant with Department of Transportation. e.Underbody, body interior walls, roofs and interior compartment walls, access and compartment door interiors finished with spray able non-flammable latex coating (provides sound insulation, rust prevention, and allows for heavy cleaning in the event of body fluid contamination). f.The vehicle must be equipped with communications equipment that will interface with the existing system at East Orange and Lyons.
