- SFLC STD Spec 8634 This is a sources sought notice being issued to find contractors available to perform emergency drydock repairs for the USCGC Obion (WLR 65503) a 65-foot "B Class" River Buoy Tender. The drydock is for the following work: Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller, Temporary Services and Temporary Messing and Berthing. The Period of Performance is expected to be 3 days. We are looking for a contractor that could start work 03Aug11 and/or has availabilities in August'11. Currently there is a geographic restriction in place for this contract which is that the contractor cannot be located more than 500 river (statute) miles from the cutter's homeport of Owensboro, KY. This work will be procured under Unusual and Compelling Urgency and has been approved for such an action. Additional information on this procurement may therefore not be publicized at the discretion of the Coast Guard. Please respond to this announcement no later than 1600PT 27July11. E-mail your responses to the below questions to: Amy.A.Kelm@uscg.mil. Questions: 1) What is your availability in August'11 for this work? Please list dates. 2) Have you previously done work with the Coast Guard? Was the vessel of this size or bigger? 3) Do you have current certification of your drydocking facility with the Coast Guard according to SFLC Std Spec 8634? If not, would you be willing to obtain the certification? How long do you estimate it would take you to get the certification ready for approval? 4) Do you have current or previously approved drydock calculations with the Coast Guard? If not, how long would it take to provide these calculations according to SFLC Std Spec 8634? 5) Please provide any other information or comments.
